these are my fears

Among the many futile actions folks are taking in the face of catastrophic climate change, I hereby add one more: this blog. I need a place to write things down. Someplace public, as a record. But also anonymous, because I don't need to live inside-out online. For all the chatter about the climate crisis - words measured, shrill, accusatory, resistant - there's not enough talk about the day-to-day experience of living it. That bit, that to me that is most salient, also seems to be the most overlooked. There's some talk from time to time about 'climate grief' and 'climate anxiety,' but what about the befuddlement? The difficult decision-making? The awkward attempts at trying to do the right thing without all of the necessary information? The constant feelings of inadequacy in the face of a challenge that must be surmounted if we are to stave off catastrophe? I worry that the consequences anthropogenic global warming will be worse than we expect, sooner ...
